WoW PvP Secrets – The Warlock
Understanding the strengths and weaknesses of your Warlock is the most basic secret of success in Warcraft PvP combat. Now don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying that’s all you need to know, or even close to it. But if you don’t really understand your Warlock’s basic Player versus Player strengths and weaknesses, nothing else will matter much. Since this is so important, let’s look at the PvP strengths and weaknesses of a Warlock.
Warlock PvP Strengths
I can tell you from personal experience that Warlocks can be formidable opponents in PvP. Your character’s greatest strength is the way they can DoT and crowd control. In plain English, your character’s strength is the way they can cause their enemies to lose health over a period of time, then cause the victim to run around out of control as they die.
A second major strength of your Warlock is the Felhunter. Trained specifically to fight spell casters, these fierce beasts will ruin an opposing caster’s day for sure.
Warlock PvP Weaknesses
Unfortunately for you, your character does have some weaknesses in Player versus Player combat. Mages (and others) can break your Fear spells and counter your DoT attacks. Against these pests, you’ll want to deploy your Felhunter. But you’ll also need spells that apply all their damage immediately. You’re also going to need more mana against these, so mana-replenishing spells like Life Tap will be crucial to keep your from running out. Running out of mana in PvP is a fatal mistake.
We’ve covered the basic Warlock Player versus Player strengths and weaknesses. This is a great foundation, but you’re going to need to learn a lot more if you really want to dominate PvP. A top-notch PvP guide can give you far more information, including specific instructions for dealing with each player class that can counter your primary attacks.
