What To Do In Berlin In Summer
That came round really quickly: summer is right around the corner in Berlin; it will be here in a few weeks time and the whole of Germany is getting excited about the first sunrays. Top temperatures of 25 degrees and a lot of sun, in this case one or the other had probably kicked off the BBQ season back in March, but if not, it will kick off in April.
The beer gardens are open, the garden chairs are sitting outside the pubs and you can find green trees everywhere. As well concerts, festivals and other open air events are also advertising. This most certainly makes you wish for more…
Berlin is also an amazing green city: there are parks and gardens in all forms imaginable and you can enjoy a beautiful, colourful sea of flowers running through it.
For example, the “Tierpark” really resembles a green oasis spreading over the city from “Bahnhof Zoo” to the “Brandenburger Tor”. The botanic garden is also a perfect opportunity to spend an stress-free afternoon. It is one of the biggest botanic gardens of the world containing 43 hectares where visitors can see around 22.000 different species of plants.
The zoological garden as well as “Tierpark Friedrichsfelde” offers a combination between a park and a zoo. Both are extensive attractions with a big choice of animals.
There are also many smaller open spaces and parks which are ideal for a break in between.
These are precisely the right things to do before you get back to your Ferienwohnung in Berlin from a sightseeing tour. On the other hand, bigger parks, wood and forestlands are better and interesting to see on a full day out.
As you can see, especially in this time of the year, there are many things to do in Berlin and many places for you to catch the sun. That is why I recommend you don’t hide in your Unterkunft Berlin in front of the TV but put your shorts and T-shirts on and enjoy the beautiful weather Germany currently is blessed with.
