Tips To Ensure Your Safety While Traveling On An Aircraft
Although traveling on a plane may seem something usual to you but you cannot ignore the need to practice airline safety. Especially when you are boarding floatplanes, the need to ensure safety develops even more. You should select a pilot who has an impressive flying record and Floatplane rating in order to be secure. His Float rating included his certificate will tell you about how good he is at flying. However, if you are just boarding a usual aircraft, you still need to ensure safety. You should be aware of what to do if by any means something goes wrong with the aircraft or it encounters a crash. Following are a few usual tips that may help you in assuring that you are safe on a plane;
• You should prioritize direct flights over flights with connections. This is because most of the crashes take place during take off, landing, climb or descent. Keeping minimum of all of this will lessen the chances of a plane crash.
• It is better that you choose a larger aircraft to travel. The aircrafts that were designed for more than 30 passengers went through strict regulations. Such aircrafts would be safer enough for you. Also, there are more likelihood of survival on a larger aircraft after a plane crash. A small aircraft may be torn into pieces as a whole, while a larger aircraft wouldn’t.
• Hear to the flight briefing. Even though this seems as a primary lesson, many individuals may not listen to what the operator might be saying. You should know where is the emergency exit (which may not be at the same position for all planes), and what other safety measures you must take if by chance you encounter some accident.
• You must not take heavy baggage for the overhead storage bin. This will minimize the chances of tumbling of heavy articles during a plane crash.
• Keep the seatbelts fixed whenever you are seated. Even though this might be something known to you since your childhood, but keeping the seatbelts fixed will prevent you from any sudden knocking of the aircraft.
• Keep the amount of drinks you take in to the minimum. Also make sure that you do not drink too much alcohol while you are on board. The effects of alcohol may greatly increase when you are above sea level.
• Do not pour hot drinks yourself. Flight attendants are usually skilled at this even when the aisle is crowded and when the plane is moving. You cannot take any chances with hot drinks, so let the attendant help you.
• As for the airports, choose the ones that are smaller. This way you can make it to the airport on time and would be able to skip all the jamming in city centers.
• If in your control, be seated close to the emergency exit. If you cannot, get to know the way to emergency exit so that you don’t have to wander here and there at the time of any emergency.
• Lastly, stay calm. Do not panic and release all the stress before you board the aircraft. Stay stress free and have a safe flight!
