Spectacular Show in Berlin
Since 2005 the men of the Blue Man Group have been in Berlin. With their spectacular show they have been entertaining around 1.6 million people and therefore belong to the most successful en-suite shows in the German capital.
Even long before the blue boys came to Germany they had become a cult figure.
When the show takes place, viewers are taken on a journey which could not be better concerning creativity: Comedy and lively music are combined with spirit, entertainment, science and arts. This composition does not only fascinate people in Berlin.
The Blue Man Group has now got its own Unterkunft Berlin in Berliner Platz. The “Bluemax” had been adapted because of the blue men’s needs and caters for more than 600 visitors.
The theatre building under a big round dome, including extremely steep tiers, is perfectly laid out for a perfect view and direct contact with the actors.
A typical identifying feature of the silent men are, besides their blue faces, the extraordinary instruments which have been created completely by themselves and are therefore unique in the world.
Sometimes it is really unbelievable how they produce such a good sound using items that remind you of the kind of sound a drain makes or something like that.
Fourteen of these special instruments, sixty barrels and rhythm instruments, 150 micros, 60.000 watt box energy, 130 moving lights and 70 strobes make the show a spectacular event! As a viewer you will be included in the show which makes it even more special.
Before the Blue Man Group embarked on their trip to Germany many people predicted that the audience would be dull and unemotional. “But they got it all wrong”, said Chris Wink. He and the other 2 founding fathers Phil Stanton and Matt Goldmann are supported by a strong live band, lots of colour, marshmallows and fascinating lightning effects.
