Soccer Practice – Uncover 8 New Ways
Practice makes a man perfect is something that each of us is aware of. I’m not sure about others, but it’s certainly true for Soccer Practice sessions. The kids enter the ground everyday with a hope to try something exciting and new. Still, it’s necessary for the kids in soccer training to continue practicing the old techniques taught by you on a daily basis.
Here’s your test to ensure that kids are not bogged down by the sameness of the drills that they are made to do on a daily basis. To aid you in carrying out practice sessions in a way that’s motivating, regular, and closely controlled; following are some tips.
1. Do I need to emphasize this more? Since kids follow their coach, you must act as their mentor. Be punctual on the field, show them your expertise with the ball, involve everyone in drills, and organize the sessions well. This way you can get the player’s attention, their respect and trust.
2. Instruct the kids to bring their own ball to the field everyday. It is mandatory that every kid has a soccer ball. Just in case they forget to bring it, keep some extra balls with you.
3. There are some soccer moves which require regular practice. Kicking, passing, dribbling, throw-ins are the essential elements of soccer practice. The kids must practice these regularly. Ensure that everyone participates in it even though some may show lack of enthusiasm initially.
4. When compared with soccer drills, include games more in practice sessions. The reason is that games require much more stamina and dexterity in contrast to drills. And it is easy to keep the focus on soccer as also to test new things with games.
5. Discipline is the key to success for any team. With young players, it is no big deal to have mistakes. It is necessary that you deal with all issues of indiscipline as soon as they arise. But keep in mind the method you adopt to do so since kids are sensitive and get hurt easily.
6. Amidst the action, you will observe that some players do not take active part in the game. Ensure that this does not happen. All the children should actively participate in the action. Instruct the players about their position on the field and make them responsible for it.
7. Do not allow a lot of scrimmage. About 15 to 20 minutes at the end of the session is good enough. Also, do not appoint a goalie when scrimmaging. This will ensure that kids become good at defense.
8. Keep looking for new methodologies and games. That is the best way to keep the interest of the kids alive in the training sessions.
