Rome Concert
The 1st of May means party, liberation, the claiming of ones rights and freedom of the individual, and as usual, the place where this will be most warmly felt is the capital, (more precisely in P.zza San Giovanni) where the concert that brings in youngsters from all over Italy every year will be held.
This year the concert will be seen out with the presence of the evergreen Vasco Rossi, who has accepted to take part, making it more valued and surely the most followed concert of the year.
The success of the festival is therefore assured thanks to the presence of Sergio Castellitto, the formidable actor who will take the reins of running and cheering on the musical marathon, so all you’ve got to do is rent an appartamento Roma to relax in when the performance is over; in fact, I’m sure that the heat, the sun, the crowds and last but not least, the atmosphere will take all your energy out of you…
Going over the line up in more detail, below you’ll find a complete list of the artists who will be performing during the day:
Afterhours, Asian Dub Foundation, Bandabardò, Baustelle., Caparezza, Cristiano Godano, Edoardo Bennato, Francesco Bianconi, Gianni Maroccolo, Manuel Agnelli, Marlene kuntz, Motel Connection, Nomadi, Vasco Rossi,Afterhours…
The event will be broadcast in its entirety by RaiTre, live from 4pm until 12am, and Vasco Rossi’s performance should last for about 45 minutes. When he confirmed he was going to attend the concert, he decided to dedicate a letter to it:
“Dear 1st May
I’m pleased to be able to take part in the party this year.
It’s a “comeback” for me.
10 years have passed since you welcomed me into your rock arms.
Water has passed under the bridge
Everything has always gone well for me and I’m really grateful to be back.
It’s a shame that we can’t say as much for our country.
I can’t see a good outlook around me.
The credit crunch and especially the difficulty many have getting through to the end of the month. But there’s also the freedom conquists and living together civily, which have hardly been reached in recent decades, having been put back in discussion, even at the risk of them being cancelled.
It’s not a good sign and it’s certainly not the world I would like.
I don’t do politics and anyway, “to govern” is a term I have never liked.
You know how important words are to me.
‘To administer’ should be said. It would be more correct.
As far as I’m concerned, “to govern” means seeing to animals.
But we’re here to bring you a bit of joy
For me, this is the moment of solidarity.
I would like to give back a bit of what I’ve received.
It will be a great day.
“Vasco Rossi”
