Rolex Submariner Ceramic Bezel

Posted in Crafts

It is commonly known that while they release good watches, Rolex seems to move slower than a snail on horse tranquilizers. It isn’t just about releasing new watches, it has to do with keeping up with the latest and improving on current models. Mostly, they’re simply being careful. Most of their “good” designs are more than 40-60 years old. This demonstrates that sometimes, it’s quite impossible to have good design paired with comfort. The new Rolex Date-Just, for instance, has made itself bigger, literally: from 36mm to 41mm (the 36mm model is retained though). Still, this year, some changes to the basic Rolex Submariner Ceramic Bezel line make me the newest fan of this arguably lasting design.

The new case actually works well because it’s more angular than squared. This feature provides this version of the model a more retro look – rather than the outgoing look that defines the previous models. There are a few good changes to the design that take the watch into a new area of desirability. Firstly, the Rolex Submariner Ceramic Bezel. The outgoing model uses an aluminium insert – this is scratched too easily and is beginning to look cheap. The ceraminc bezel, however, boasts of numerals that are molded in – so the numerals will not scratch off. And because it’s ceramic, the bezel won’t get dull and is certainly not prone to scratches. This kind of bezel, first featured on the new GMT Master and the DeepSea Sea-Dweller, now finds a home on the Submariner. Better yet, the different Rolex diving watches are beginning to have a different character from one another. People used to think of the Submariner and Sea-Dweller as identical – except for the helium escape valve and the lack of magnifier lens on the latter. But now, the two models of diving watches are easily distinguishable.

The case has a number of changes as well. It seems like the hands are fattened up even more, which constitutes a good look. Fascinatingly, Rolex came up with a silly name for that: the Maxi-dial. Case size is still medium for the period, at about 42mm, but it looks good. The Rolex Submariner Ceramic Bezel’s gold accents really complement the bracelet’s gold center link. All Submariner watches have gold hands as well as indicators on the face. All-steel versions of this model, on the other hand, use white gold on the face, and not yellow gold.

Lume takes on a different direction too. Gone is green, long live blue! The hour markers and hands are all given a ton of lovely blue glowing lume that is brighter (and better underwater) than the green that most people are used to. Plus, the lume on the Rolex Submariner Ceramic Bezel has the same treatment as on the SeaDweller – contained in a little case to prevent it from damage or wearing out. To keep things looking serious, Rolex provides a healthy portion of the case with a brushed finish, while other parts get the polished look.

Rolex’s in-house movement has always obtained top grades for being accurate and hardy, and nothing has changed there. Still, each model is a certified Chronometer. Watch repair people always prefer working with Rolex movements – they are simple and the parts are not difficult to come by. Rolex does a great job at making a world-class mass produced movement and watch.

Here is the latest: The new Rolesor (mixture of gold and steel) Rolex Submariner Ceramic Bezel watch pictures will use a feature of the new DeepSea See-Dweller watches – glidelock deployments. Great news! It was just a few years ago that Rolex finally got rid of the outer pin holes on the lugs. I really detested a few of the older bracelet deployments, but with the new system of the DeepSea Sea-Dweller, Rolex proved that if it put its mind to it, it could come up with the finest bracelet deployment in the industry. To emphasize, the new Rolex Submariner Ceramic Bezel watches will now feature better and upgraded bracelets.

Enthusiasts of the Rolex Submariner Ceramic Bezel can go on and on singing praises about this watch. But the real power of this watch – regardless of color, or style – is its versatility. For starters, this watch looks great on anyone, on any outfit. Its design gets better and better and it has high retention value and a universal appeal. And because it is a Rolex, then this will never let you down – you can rely on its staying power. Now, I just need to get one myself one of these days.
