One way of saving cash on the summer holiday this year is to holiday in the UK. North Devon could be a perfect destination for those wondering where to go. For those wanting something to do, there are a variety of visitor attractions. What area is good for finding a cottage?

Well, to begin with take a look at the most popular holiday cottages in North Devon at the moment. Going through the cottages that other holiday makers are looking at and booking the most is a ideal way to start. It’s almost like a recommendation. If other people are booking those cottages above whatever else is in the brochures, then they could also be the best holiday cottages for you as well. Other customers know the best villages to stay in, the top locations to stay in. So why not benefit from their experience and knowledge and just see what they are booking!

One of the highly chosen holiday cottages available in North Devon is known quite simply as ‘Barn’ and is located in the Kings Nympton area of North Devon. Maybe its name gives the game away that it is a barn conversion! It is a fairly large building, capable of holding 12 people, in 4 bedrooms – 2 family bedrooms and 2 twin rooms. Barn is actually the biggest of 7 conversions on the one farm, which is probably why it is frequently booked. It’s excellent for groups, and if your group needs more beds, then there are a a couple of smaller properties available at the same time. It is set in a pretty location, with scenic views, a cobbled court yard and a pond. The near by village of Kings Nympton is ‘typically English’, with lovelly thatched cottages to admire. It would be nice if we all lived in such pretty villages!

At the other end of the size spectrum is The Roundhouse, in Swimbridge. This is actually a set of cottages, this one with just space for a romantic getaway for two. There are a lot areas of interest within a short distance and the cottages are set within their own gardens and even come with their own outdoor heated pool for summer use.

The third most booked holiday cottage in North Devon is Huntsham Barn, which as a sleeps 5 fits in size neatly between the other two cottages. Any size can be a popular choice! Huntsham Barn is sited in Huntsham, North Devon. It is a conservation area and as such it is rich in wildlife. This is a converted slate stone barn and is very large, with its own south facing courtyard and is surrounded by wooded valleys and hills. It’s an excellent area to choose if you want to stay in somewhere relaxing and quiet to visit.
