Innovation Process in Nightlife Entertainment

Posted in Performing Arts

Since the beginning of human evolution on Earth, nightlife entertainment has always been present. Even when we were primitive tribes, we were celebrating by dancing around fires together at night. With technology innovation, nightlife entertainment has evolved greatly in the past centuries…

Today more than ever, nightclubs and rave events are a really powerfull business. They aren’t just a buisiness, they are a way to relax, to socialize, to have fun, to express ourself in a different way, etc. Modern technology has enabled us to create an increadibly awesome nightlife experience for the modern clubbers and ravers. It all started with the basic instruments to create music and fire to create light effects. Later on, electronic evolution gave us the amazing techno music. In pure techno music, there are not vocalizations or sounds that are made by anything other than electronic devices. It started to become popular in certain clubs after its creation, which is said to have taken place in the 1980’s in Detroit. First, their was disco music. Their is many different style of techno music that are very popular in the nightlife entertainment scene: psytrance, drum and bass, funky, acid, happy, ambiant…

Here are some of the most influent D.J.s in the world today:

  • Sander Van Doorn

What is the real innovation strategy that has made this evolution of the nightlife entertainment happen? First, their is the invention of the transistor in 1947 by John Bardeen, William Shockley, and Walter Brattain. A couple of years later, a Japanese manufacturer of electronic musical instruments introduced the Roland TR-808. In the late seventies and early eighties, Roland seemed specialize in electronic music instruments that were under appreciated while they were in production, but it quickly became the classics. The Roland TR-808 Rhythm Composer was one of the first programmable drum machines. The term “TR” serving as an abbreviation for transistor rhythm.

By combining this music with various light effects in the clubs, we get an increadible atmosphere where anyone can dance and celebrate. It’s in our genes to celebrate like this, we did it for centuries. It’s just that the way we do it has been changed dramatically by technology. In my opinion, it’s a very good thing. The invention of the laser also greatly changed the nightlife scene. The laser was invented in 1958 at Bells labs. Since then, the little device evolved very rapidly to create special lighting effects in any parties.

Every big city around the globe has rave events going on and great clubs to go out and party… A question we could be asking here is: where is the nightlife entertainment capital on the globe? The anwser is definitely: IBIZA! It is the third largest of the Balearic Islands, an autonomous community of Spain. Clubbing wise, it just doesn’t get bigger or better than Ibiza; the most grandiose and spectacular range of clubs anywhere in the world; every serious DJ and promoter around and a relentless summer clubbing agenda.

Here are a couple of clubs that you should visit if you have the chance to go in Ibiza:

Privilege – located in the middle of the island, near San Rafael
