Posted in Art

With the market show “The Road to Contemporary Art”, the city of Rome aims to become a leading player in the field of contemporary art, attracting to the capital the gallery owners, artists, collectors and enthusiasts of this type of art, which will be housed in appartamenti Roma.

The second edition of the exhibition will be held April 2-5, with the innovative format remaining the same in a bid to repeat the success of last year. The big news of the fair, compared to many similar events taking place all over the world, is that in local areas: works from some sixty national and international galleries are not in fact set out on stands in exhibition halls that are usually located in the historic centres of cities, but in wonderful historical buildings, symbols of the eternal city, which would be just enough to enjoy a trip to Rome. Visitors will thus be able to discover some of the works of the most innovative contemporary art and at the same time can wander from room to room through some of the most magnificent buildings, following a path, or rather a road (“The Road” which gives its name to the show) that will lead you through some of the most important aspects of the city and the discovery of new works of contemporary art.

The exhibition is therefore characterized by a unique blend of contemporary art and historical locations, but also by a huge variety of artwork that will surely satisfy any visitor or buyer and that will give the various galleries and artists the opportunity to show their importance. The fair will be divided into three sections: “the Fair”, at Palazzo delle Esposizioni and Palazzo Venezia, these galleries are becoming more and more successful in international trade fairs and have the best-known artists, “Stargate”, which is also at Palazzo Palazzo delle Esposizioni and Venice, which will be devoted to galleries less than seven years old that have already achieved notable awards and that continue to focus on testing and research. Start-ups also include the more recent galleries, opened less than three years ago, thanks to the “Road to Contemporary Art” they will have the best chance to make themselves known and to present their artists to a wide audience in a prestigious setting.

If you want advice, book an appartamento a Roma for the duration of the fair, and visit several of the events that make this program, “The Road to Contemporary Art”, particularly attractive: exhibitions of private collections of artists and works with video materials, experimental works and works of young artists around the Mediterranean, as well as discussions and meetings with artists, collectors and gallery owners.
