The Tower is the symbol of unit and strength of the working people of the German Democratic Republic. The Television Tower in Berlin is one of the tallest buildings in Europe with 368 metres high.

It is the key point for all telecommunications in the city and a magnificent tourist attraction.

At the top of the tower there a viewpoint and a restaurant; the viewpoint is at an altitude of approximately 204 meters above the ground.

It was built in 1969 and it is currently the second tallest building in Europe, with 368 meters, only being surpassed by the Ostankino Tower in Moscow, and it is also the seventeenth highest tower of the World.

To climb the tower, there are some lifts that only take 40 seconds to climb the 204 meters to the restaurant; the only snag getting to the lifts is that you have to queue for 30 minutes.

There is one of the best views of Berlin from the restaurant and you can easily see all the districts in the heart of Berlin, from the tallest buildings to the smallest . It is better to visit during night to appreciate the most beautiful side to this brilliant city.

The restaurant also rotates on its axis every 30 minutes. The food is delicious and the service perfect, and it goes without saying that all these services are included in the bill because the restaurant is quite pricey.

It is one of the most popular attractions and a must see when in Berlin.

The tower is located at “Alexanderplatz” and will not have any problem getting there.

There is a metro station and a tram station that will take you to the tower, both of them having the name “Alexanderplatz”, which is a few minutes walking distance away from the tower.

The opening hours vary depending on the months. From March to October the tower opens at 9 am and closes at midnight, and from November to February the tower opens at 10 am and closes at midnight.

Admission for adults is 8 euros and in the mornings you can have breakfast there for only 7 euros.
