The Eiffel Tower is 120 years old! Architecture students are paying a tribute to her.
To celebrate 120 years of the Eiffel Tower, a major architectural competition was held by students of Schools of Architecture in France on the theme “Build a building of great height on the Champs de Mars in Paris, at a distance, attached to or in place of the Eiffel Tower. This ambitious project has certainly inspired the students who designed over 91 models each one more creative than the next. The students spent months working on this ambitious project. The most creative were selected by a jury of renowned architects, the Director of the Pavillon de l’Arsenal, representing the city of Paris, the President of the Corporate Foundation of the society of the Eiffel Tower, the CEO and an architect of Abvent Group, organizers of this competition. Prices ranging from 1500 to 7000 euros have been allocated to reward the most original and innovative students.
The projects are revolutionary, original and creative. The winning project decided to include hotel rooms in the structure of the Eiffel tower, others have constructed a tower made up of giant wind turbines … All these projects are waiting to be discovered at the Cité de l’architecture et du patrimoine until the 12th of April and also on the site http://www.fondationsocietetoureiffel.org/ from your location appartement paris.
All in all, it was a successful tribute to the Eiffel tower. A big congratulations should go to the new talents of tomorrow’s architects.
