An Overview Of Some Effective Pitching Workouts
Some baseball coaches do not really understand correct baseball pitching mechanics, and therefore end up having their pitchers dedicate a lot of their time doing drills that are not really very effective at increasing pitching speed and accuracy. These coaches probably also make their players life weights to build up arm strength, but this isn’t necessary in order to throw at a higher velocity. The amount of time spent in baseball pitching workout programs would be much better spent if coaches would focus on the pitching techniques and the way that the entire body can generate more power to increase a pitcher’s velocity.
Some of the more common components of most baseball pitching workouts include drills for pitchers, weight training, flat ground pitching, and stretching have proven to actually do more harm to pitchers than good or actually end up decreasing a pitcher’s velocity. This is because most of these drills and methods focus more on the arm than on the body as a whole. The best pitchers use use their whole body in order to throw the pitch, and not just their arms. When you use your whole body to throw the pitch, and do it with maximum effectiveness, your body should transfer through different positions, and if a pitcher trains his body in this process, it becomes natural to use the proper body mechanics to throw your pitches.
While this information has been proven in many studies, word hasn’t really traveled through the masses and hasn’t really reached most coaches. That is why many baseball coaches continue to have their pitchers spending wasted time in baseball pitching workouts with worthless methods of pitching. More and more parents are learning about how important it is to use their whole bodies and the proper way of throwing a pitch through the use of training videos and manuals that are being sold online.
Maybe, as more studies are done showing the typical pitching workout programs are not as effective as previously thought, more coaches will switch to more effective pitching training regimens. Better workouts will lead players through pitching mechanics, beginning from the end and moving backwards, and on learning how to use their bodies to harness the explosive power that you can generate through pitching a baseball correctly.
