Acne Diet Development 101
Many people could benefit from an acne diet. After all, who has not heard the saying that chocolate gives you pimples? Almost all of us have. So instead of causing a break out, you could prevent it by watching what you eat.
However, an acne diet can be hard to create for a large number of people. Its very personal because it has to be based on an individuals responses to food. There are guidelines, but each individual’s progress will mostly be trial and error. Watch your skin carefully. Make note of any changes. You could keep a photo journal. If and when your skin clears, stick to the diet that you were using at that time.
Here are some simple rules to get you started on an acne diet:
* You need to increase your protein - Some dermatologists believe that protein is associated with clearer skin. They believe this because protein has an enzyme in it that limits oil production. Oily skin is very vulnerable to breakouts.
* Carbohydrates are not good - Do not take all carbs out of your diet. However you should keep them around 40 percent of your diet. This is because there are compounds in carbohydrates that can stimulate oil production. This is why common knowledge says that junk food leads to acne. Actually, though, junk food is just high in carbs.
* Try to drink green tea - Real green tea is the best, try to drink it The best type of green tea is the kind you brew at home. You really may not like the real green tea so the natural green tea drinks will work Green tea will restrain the production of androgen. Androgen is a hormone that will cause your skin to breakout.
* 4. Limit your salt intake - Salt most always contains iodine. This is the reason why you hear table salt called “iodized salt.” For some with acne, iodine an cause major inflammation.
You must watch your diet and what you put on your face. If you currently have acne, you are more aware than most of what is contained in your beauty products. Look for oil-free moisturizers and natural or organic skin care lines. These products will least likely cause you to breakout. Consider switching over to mineral makeup. Many dermatologists believe that mineral makeup can actually alleviate acne problems and enhance the results of your acne diet.
