8 Ways To Practice Soccer

Posted in Sports

It’s not new for you to when I say, practice makes a man perfect. And it’s true when it comes to Soccer Practice sessions. The kids look forward to getting to the field each day with an intention to learn something new. Still, it’s necessary for the kids in soccer training to continue practicing the old techniques taught by you on a daily basis.

So the challenge before you is to ensure that monotony does not set in despite the kids practicing a few identical drills everyday. Given below are certain tricks that’ll allow you to execute practice sessions in a disciplined, expected, and an attractive way.

1. Does this need more emphasis? Since kids follow their coach, you must act as their mentor. Get to the filed on time, expose them to your talent, let everyone take part in drills, and arrange the sessions properly. You’ll get to earn your players respect, their confidence and trust in you.

2. The kids should be instructed to get to the field everyday with their own ball. It’s compulsory for each kid to have a soccer ball. You should be having some extra balls in case some kids forget theirs.

3. There are some soccer moves which require regular practice. Kicking, passing, dribbling, and throw-ins account for some basic elements in soccer practice. It’s imperative for the kids to practice these daily without fail. Initially, few of the kids might not want to take part in these but you must ensure that everyone pitches in.

4. When compared with soccer drills, include games more in practice sessions. The major reason is that games call for a lot more strength and judgment when compared with drills. Plus, it becomes easier to try out new things as well as concentrate on soccer with games.

5. Regulation is of paramount importance for a team in order to be victorious. With kids, it is almost certain that you will have issues. Ensure that you nip all issues in the bud to whether big or small. However, do it carefully since it is kids you are dealing with and they are susceptible.

6. While the session is on, you will note that some players do not run with the ball while others do. You must ensure that this is never the case. Every kid should participate in one way or the other in the session. Teach the players about which positions they should hold and how they can make the best use of those positions.

7. Do not allow a lot of scrimmage. Ideally, it should not be more than 15 to 20 minutes at the end of each session. And a goalie is not required in scrimmaging. This will teach the kids to be good defenders.

8. Keep innovating and experimenting with games and drills. That is the best way to keep the interest of the kids alive in the training sessions.
